About the role
The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the organization's digital workplace and collaboration platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365 and related services. This role helps improve system reliability, user experience, security, and operational efficiency by delivering scalable solutions, supporting core platforms, and partnering with cross-functional teams to meet business needs. Duties include:
  • Systems Administration & Support: Administer, support, and improve Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related collaboration services.
  • Solution Delivery: Implement and maintain technical solutions that meet business and operational needs, including platform configuration, service enhancements, and system integrations.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply and maintain security controls such as MFA, Conditional Access, DLP, and other Microsoft 365 security features in partnership with security teams.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Use scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell and Power Platform, to streamline administration, reporting, and routine operational tasks.
  • Identity & Device Management: Support identity and access management processes across Active Directory, Entra ID, and endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune.
  • Messaging & Collaboration: Support enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient communication across the organization.
  • Operational Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and tier-3 support for platform issues, participate in root cause analysis, and contribute to service stability and continuous improvement.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain technical documentation, standard procedures, and knowledge articles, and communicate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and end users.

What we're looking for:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, or related enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience administering enterprise systems in a medium to large environment.
  • Experience with messaging, identity, endpoint management, or collaboration technologies.
  • Experience supporting production systems, troubleshooting incidents, and implementing improvements.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, and identity/access administration.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft security and compliance capabilities, such as MFA, Conditional Access, and DLP.
  • Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting tools for administration and automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or other endpoint management platforms is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Windows server environments and enterprise support processes.
  • Professional Skills:
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate across teams.
  • Commitment to customer service, documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Education & Certification
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Certifications: Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, or related technical certifications are preferred but not required.
