What does a successful Senior Software Engineer, Golang and Postgres do at Fiserv?

Finxact offers scalability with adaptiveness to change, harnessing the cloud's resiliency and elasticity to design and launch new products with agility and precision without technology upheaval.As a Senior Software Engineer, you will specialize in managing and executing migration projects, ensuring the seamless transfer of database systems and applications. This role is pivotal in maintaining data integrity and security throughout the migration process, contributing to our mission of delivering innovative financial services solutions.

What you will do:

  • Lead and oversee migration projects; collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Analyze existing software systems and applications to identify migration requirements and potential challenges.
  • Develop migration plans and strategies, outlining timelines, resources, and necessary tools and technologies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement migration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Ensure data integrity and security during the migration process, implementing necessary safeguards and controls.
  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of migrated systems; resolve any issues or errors that may arise.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of migration processes and procedures; ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of Golang experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with databases and data migration techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience operating Postgres in a Cloud environment, PostgreSQL database architecture, concepts, features, and high-availability technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in query optimization, indexing knowledge, modeling basics, materialized views, and partitioning.
  • 5+ years of experience with PL/PgSQL, triggers, and stored procedure development and optimization in PostgreSQL.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with RDBMS in the cloud.
  • Initiative-taking approach to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience in prioritization and management of multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with performance and load testing databases.
