Duties * Serve as a Shift Leader who is an assistant to the Guard Shift Supervisor. * Support the implementation of installation emergency plans and the patrolling of restricted and limited access areas. * Enter data into automated forms to provide visitor passes. * Check identification and vehicles to ensure only authorized personnel are allowed access. Requirements Conditions of employment * This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. * This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training. * The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. * This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. * This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. * This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter. * Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. * This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. * This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. Standard for medical exams are prescribed in AR 190-56 "The Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program". * This positions requires the incumbent must successfully complete security guard training. * This position may require incumbent to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton. * This position requires the incumbent must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene. * This position requires employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors. * This position requires chemical protective mask and over garments. Incumbent must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments. * Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability; duties and training require for the employee to carry and deploy a riot baton, carry a protective shield and employ non-lethal ammunitions. * Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
