Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Tech Asst Casual for the Covey Lab in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience - School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages the mouse colony; genotypes mice and sets up breedings.
  • Carries out molecular biology and immunological experiments and associated data analysis.
  • Receives packages and keeps track of the associated paperwork.
  • Maintains a clean and functional lab environment.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to carry out molecular biology and immunology experiments with only a modest level of supervision.
  • Ability to work productively in a team setting.
  • Strong communication skills, including written skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mouse husbandry.
  • Computational data analysis knowledge.
