Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide design for structural components necessary for the development of a project.
  • Perform structural wood and steel calculations for commercial and residential projects.
  • Perform reinforced concrete calculations for building slabs, spread footings, retaining walls etc.
  • Structural engineer shall have ability of understanding, interpreting and correctly applying national codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
  • Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.
  • Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
  • Resolve project issues and problems.
  • Provide technical guidance to co-workers.
  • Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
  • Works autonomously without direct supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong working knowledge of design codes such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
    • PE in Texas
    • Should be proficient in using analytical software and have experience using AutoCAD, RISA & Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong communication skills and interface skills with clients and project team members.
    • Ability to multi-task, and a willingness to quickly change work assignments.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
    • 7 plus years of experience residential and commercial engineering.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Certificates & Licenses:
    • State of Texas Structural Engineer License
