Job Description Summary

This part-time, seasonal position will manage key aspects of the domestic application review process, including training Miami's AI-powered OCR transcript-reading tool, training readers and monitoring performance, reading application files, making application corrections, and performing GPA recalculations. This position is approved for remote work. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.

Essential Duties:

  • Train and quality-check Miami's AI-powered OCR software to assist in the standardization and review of high school transcripts.

  • Buddy-read with new readers, assessing their review and recommendations to provide follow up and instructions until approved to read without oversight.

  • Read applications.

  • Monitor all applications with problematic data points, making corrections as needed, completing the review if possible, and/or sending the app to the territory reader or supervisor to follow up if necessary.

  • Check and correct or recalculate all incorrect GPAs in application files.

  • Adhere to review deadlines throughout the application cycle.

  • Support Office of Admission internal staff in the designated Slack channel and/or via email, responding in a timely fashion to complex questions about transcript review.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

  • Permanent address in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 1+ years of experience reviewing admission applications for Miami University

  • Prior professional experience working in Slate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The above, plus experience
