Job description

The Lloyd Hotel is a boutique lifestyle hotel located in the heart of downtown Stamford, Connecticut. Whether welcoming guests at the front desk, preparing rooms, serving food and beverages, or supporting hotel operations, every team member plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the hotel consistently provides excellent service to guests.
    • Consistently maintain established standards regarding guest interactions, complaint resolution, and uniform consistency/employee appearance.
    • Consistently maintain a personal presence in the lobby to ensure guests are being attended to and feel welcome as soon as they walk into the hotel.
    • Review all online reviews and surveys to keep a pulse on team performance and address any issues that arise with the staff.
    • Conduct weekly hotel leadership meetings in collaboration with Regional General Manager to review issues and address areas for improvement in guest service and complaint resolution.
  • Develop hotel employees to ensure RMS hotel employees are consistently performing at a high level and elevating service.
    • Ensure that all new employees are being trained to the hotel’s established standards and consistently reinforce those standards across the entire staff.
    • Continuously identify employees that can grow within the hotel and work to fill gaps in their knowledge/skillset to advance those employees within the hotel.
  • Ensure that team morale is consistently high.
    • Collaborate with RMS HR, Regional General Manager, and hotel leadership to organize regular employee events to boost team morale and show appreciation to employees. The hotel general manager is responsible for the consistent execution of such events.
  • Review and optimize each department’s schedule to ensure that hotel has the resources necessary to perform at a high level while minimizing weekly payroll.
    • Obtain weekly schedules from department heads two weeks in advance.
    • Review, modify, and optimize schedule prior to sending the schedule to Regional General Manager for final approval.
  • Execute ordering process at the hotel to ensure the property is well equipped to be successful while minimizing financial impact of products and services.
    • Collaborate with department heads to execute the monthly inventory process at the hotel.
    • Place every order at the hotel once it is approved by Regional General Manager.
  • Ensure that the hotel is consistently in premier condition, and address and follow through on any cleanliness or maintenance issues as soon as they arise.
    • Consistently ensure that all public areas and rooms are cleaned with the utmost care and detail. The Hotel Manager is ultimately responsible for the consistency of the housekeeping department.
    • Execute quarterly deep cleaning and preventative maintenance projects and ensure they are completed in a high quality and timely manner.
    • Report FF&E damage or wear and tear to the RMS design team as soon as it is noticed for replacement or repair.
    • Ensure that all hotel OS&E, accessories, and overall room presentation is in accordance with RMS design team’s specifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hotel clients to boost production and personalize guest service.
    • Regularly meet with all hotel clients to obtain feedback, make service improvements, and build relationships. The hotel manager is expected to know and develop a personal relationship with a contact from each hotel client.
  • Conduct tours to all prospective corporate and group clients that want to visit the property.
    • Once a client tour is organized by RMS corporate sales, the hotel manager is expected to personally tour that prospective client through the property. If the hotel manager is on vacation or

    • Relay client feedback and tour notes to RMS corporate sales to maintain a constant line of internal communication.
  • Additional duties as necessary to ensure that the hotel performs at a high level and is consistently improving.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hotel operations experience.
  • 1+ year in a hotel leadership or management role.
  • Experience with budgeting, inventory, and vendor coordination.
  • Experience with corporate/group business, client tours, and guest relationship management.
