Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Radiology Director, Medical Director and Radiology Manager, radiologic equipment operates to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician. 

  • Fifty percent of time for this position involves aspects of the performance of fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures in surgery. The other fifty percent of time for this position involves a wide variety of imaging procedures with inpatients/ ER, and outpatient services.  
  • Assists with implementation of policies and procedures to meet the various accrediting agencies’ regulations and laws.  
  • Responsible for interfacing with other departments, physicians and their office staff, patients, families, visitors, Radiology school and Radiology employees as needed.  
  • Performs duties of radiologic technologist, including call rotation coverage.  
  • Assist radiologists and other department technologists in performing exams and procedures as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited program by the commission on accreditation of allied health education programs, American Medical Association or other accrediting agencies
  • Current license with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (either temporary or permanent) required upon hire. 
  • Registry By American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).  
  • Must Be Current in Basic Life Support / BCLS.  
  • Knowledge Of Radiology Operations Related to Radiographic Imaging of Surgical Procedures Including sterile technique, radiation safety, CR/PACS, C-arm merge boxes. 
  • Preferred 1-year Related Work Experience as a Radiologic Technologist in the Operating Room.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills to train, maintain competence, and confidence in radiologic technologists and students working in the operating rooms.  
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals including physicians.
