Orthopedic X-Ray Tech - Temporary Assignment
$25 per hour
Birmingham, AL
Our Birmingham, AL partner is seeking a detail-oriented Orthopedic X-ray Technician to provide coverage during a maternity leave. In this role, you will support physicians and nursing staff by performing diagnostic imaging and assisting with patient care. Candidates with at least one year of X-ray tech experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and perform X-rays in accordance with established safety and clinical protocols
  • Follow radiation safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure
  • Adhere to clinical policies and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care across all locations
  • Process, label, and file radiographic images; maintain imaging records within the EMR system
  • Retrieve, log, and manage imaging requests for referrals, copying, faxing, or electronic transmission
  • Assist physicians as part of the clinical care team in delivering direct patient care
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in patient charts; route records appropriately
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain X-ray rooms and equipment
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks and maintain required documentation
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs as ordered by providers
  • Track completed imaging procedures and complete associated documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain exam rooms and ensure adequate supply levels of clinical and radiology materials
  • Request, retrieve, and track imaging from internal and external facilities as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • BLS Certification (preferred)
  • ARRT Certification (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a limited-scope/basic/LMRT/NCT radiology program required
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • At least 1 year of X-ray tech experience required
  • Prior experience in an orthopedic clinic or radiology department strongly preferred
