As a Guest Services Officer (Temporary Project), you will support the Green Roof Project by providing dedicated oversight of contractors and vendors. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a major campus initiative while helping maintain safety, security, and operational excellence during active construction.
What You'll Do
As a Guest Services Officer assigned to this project, you will focus on contractor oversight, access control, and safety monitoring.
Responsibilities include:
Contractor Escort & Access Control
Escort vendors and contractors to designated work areas, verify credentials, and ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures. Maintain accountability for all individuals on-site.
Site Monitoring & Observation
Maintain a consistent presence in or near construction zones to observe activity and ensure compliance with museum policies and approved work areas.
Safety & Risk Awareness
Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or policy violations. Support emergency response protocols as needed.
Communication & Coordination
Act as a liaison between contractors and museum staff, coordinating with Security, Facilities, and Project Management teams.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate logs of contractor activity, access, and incidents. Complete reports in accordance with museum procedures.
Professional Conduct
Uphold museum policies and maintain a firm, respectful presence while enforcing safety and access requirements.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service, hospitality, or public-facing experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Kansas City Private Officer Security License if required.
