Overview
Rate: $23 - $27/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am-12:00pm. This is a temporary 6-month long position, 20 hours per week.
The Certified Medical Assistant will provide overall administrative support to the Mental Health team at Worcester Jail and House of Correction. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining psychiatry schedules, data entry, faxing and providing clerical support to the department staff. They will also be responsible for obtaining, inputting, and tracking data for the medication for the opioid use disorder program.

Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
  • Performs clerical or administrative duties in support of clinical operations.
  • Oversee scheduling of psychiatry appointments.
  • Coordinate EKG's and lab draws as needed for the opioid use disorder program
  • Verify medications in conjunction with the psychiatric nurse.
  • Assist program manager in obtaining and tracking all data for individuals in the opioid use disorder program.
  • Maintain medical records, data tracking sheets, and documentation for audits.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Attend trainings as assigned.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and current certification as a medical assistant.
  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have the ability to obtain security clearance to enter the jail.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask in busy environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to read/write English.
