Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Direct Hire Opening

Location: Plano, TX area


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and test mechanical equipment and machinery related to industrial baking and food processing applications.
  • Provide mechanical machine design, including sizing and selecting mechanical components, completing bills of materials (BOMs), and maintaining accurate maintenance and technical documentation.
  • Design products and equipment such as bakery machinery, instruments, controls, and automated systems.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop design sketches, layouts, concepts, and detailed plans.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings and models.
  • Develop product specifications and select appropriate raw materials, components, and mechanical systems for production.
  • Build and evaluate models and prototypes to test functionality, performance, and design feasibility.
  • Analyze test data and compare results with existing or similar designs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and support mechanical and control systems and monitor equipment performance during production.
  • Design and develop equipment and plant layouts for industrial processing applications.
  • Develop and document pneumatic systems and related components.
  • Design and develop conveyor systems and layouts as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, production, and other teams to develop and implement effective business and technical solutions.
  • Support project management activities and communicate project status, technical requirements, and design considerations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel as required to support projects, testing, installations, customers, or other business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Five years of related mechanical engineering or machine design experience preferred.
  • Experience designing industrial machinery, equipment, or automated systems.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent.
  • Experience with equipment and plant layout design.
  • Experience with pneumatic system design and documentation.
  • Experience with conveyor system design and layouts preferred.
  • Specific operating knowledge or experience with bakery and/or food manufacturing equipment
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
