Job description

First Western Bank is currently looking for a full-time Universal Banker I at our Eden Prairie, MN location.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $22.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors which vary according to position. Factors may include: educational and professional background, work experience, and overall qualifications. First Western Bank & Trust cares about and invests in our employees. Universal Banker I Position Overview

Provide prompt, courteous, efficient, and accurate service while handling customer banking matters in support of First Western Bank’s sales and service objectives while adhering to the bank’s culture of customer service excellence; establish and develop relationships with new consumer and business bank customers.


  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in person or on the phone in a timely, courteous, and professional manner
  • Handle a wide variety of customer banking matters accurately and efficiently; includes cashing checks; making checking and savings account deposits and withdrawals; processing credit card, loan and ACH payments; calculating loan payoffs; redeeming savings bonds; processing coin and currency orders; ordering new and issuing temporary checks; selling and issuing gift cards and travel cards; and wire transfers
  • Assist customers with debit card maintenance and account maintenance; includes name changes, address changes, deposit product changes, CD renewals, and signer changes for business accounts
  • Open and manage consumer accounts including Individual Retirement Accounts; Health Savings Accounts; checking, savings, money market, certificates of deposit, and safe deposit accounts
  • Open and manage business accounts including checking, savings, money market, certificates of deposit, and safe deposit accounts

Universal Banker I Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year of banking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures

Universal Banker I Skills/Abilities

  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, active listening skills, and proven customer service skills
  • Must be detail oriented, able to work under minimal supervision, stay poised under pressure, manage multiple tasks at one time, and interact with co-workers and customers in a professional manner
  • Must have proficient spoken and written English language skills
  • Must have cash handling, general math, and computer skills
