Job description

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Medical Assistant to support our practice during our busy vaccine and Medicare annual exam season. This position will provide both front-office and back-office support and requires someone who can quickly adapt to an established clinical workflow.

The ideal candidate will have strong Medical Assistant experience, be proficient with Epic, and be comfortable and experienced with administering vaccines. Because this is a temporary position during a high-volume period, we are looking for someone who can become productive quickly with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register and check in patients at the front desk
  • Verify and update patient information in Epic
  • Perform standard Medical Assistant back-office duties
  • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
  • Obtain and document vital signs and relevant patient information
  • Administer vaccines and injections as directed
  • Accurately document patient care and clinical information in Epic
  • Prepare exam rooms and maintain appropriate medical supplies
  • Assist providers with patient flow and clinical needs
  • Support Medicare annual exams and seasonal vaccine workflows
  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and confidentiality requirements
  • Provide professional and efficient service to patients and staff
  • Perform other Medical Assistant duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Prior Epic EHR experience required
  • Demonstrated experience administering vaccines required
  • Experience performing both front-office and back-office Medical Assistant duties
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy medical practice
  • Strong patient service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians and clinical staff
  • Current Medical Assistant certification, if required for the position/practice
  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required based on practice policy

Schedule & Temporary Assignment

This is a temporary position anticipated to run from approximately September through the end of December 2026 to provide additional staffing during the practice's vaccine and Medicare annual exam season. An earlier August/September start may be preferred to allow time to become familiar with the practice's workflow before peak season.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will already be comfortable working in a medical office using Epic, administering vaccines, supporting physicians, handling patient check-in, and moving between front- and back-office responsibilities. This position is best suited for an experienced Medical Assistant who can step into an established practice and contribute quickly.
