Job Description:

We are seeking a Staff Electromechanical Systems Advance Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing and integration of complex motion-control and mechanically actuated systems across advanced aerospace and defense platforms. This role focuses on electromechanical assemblies involving actuators, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, and integrated mechanical/electrical subsystems.ย 

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced production environments and has experience developing robust manufacturing processes for highly integrated systems.ย 

What you'll do:
  • Lead manufacturing engineering efforts for electromechanical subsystems and assembliesย 
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, work instructions, and production flows for:ย 
  • Actuatorsย 
  • Motors and drivesย 
  • Hydraulic systemsย 
  • Pneumatic systemsย 
  • Pumps and fluid systemsย 
  • Powertrain componentsย 
  • Motion-control assembliesย 
  • Partner with design engineering to improve manufacturability, reliability, testability, and producibilityย 
  • Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions for electromechanical manufacturing issuesย 
  • Develop work instructions, quality standards, and inspection methodsย ย 
  • Support supplier qualification, process validation, and production readiness reviewsย 
  • Lead DFM/DFA reviews and transition new products into manufacturingย 
  • Support system integration, validation, and troubleshooting activitiesย 
  • Define manufacturing standards, process controls, and acceptance criteriaย 
  • Support failure analysis and reliability improvement initiativesย 
  • Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and test engineering teamsย 
  • Mentor junior manufacturing engineers

  • Experience in prototype manufacturing in a startup or rapid-growth environment.ย 
  • Experience with:ย ย

  • Precision mechanical assembliesย 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities.ย 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process development and production scalingย ย 
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principlesย ย 
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologiesย ย 
Preferred qualifications:
  • Aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive industry experienceย ย 
  • Experience with servo systems and motor control assembliesย ย 
  • Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical inspection methodsย ย 
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and production optimizationย 
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems and manufacturing data analysisย 
  • Strong project management skills, including experience managing multiple priorities and deadlinesย 
  • Knowledge of quality standards, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001ย 
  • Proficiency in CAD softwareย
