This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in hands-on work, and want to be part of a team that delivers high-quality construction projects safely and efficiently.

As a Laborer, you'll play an essential role in supporting all phases of construction by assisting field leadership, preparing jobsites, operating tools and equipment, moving materials, and helping maintain a safe and organized work environment. Responsibilities

Jobsite Support

  • Perform a variety of manual labor tasks in support of commercial construction projects.
  • Assist with site preparation including trenching, grading, excavation, and backfilling.
  • Shovel, move, and distribute dirt, gravel, crushed stone, and other construction materials.
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage tools, materials, and equipment throughout the jobsite.
  • Assist skilled trades, Foremen, and Superintendents with daily construction activities.
  • Erect, dismantle, and assist with scaffolding, bracing, and temporary structures.

Equipment & Material Handling

  • Safely operate hand tools and small power tools including jackhammers, compactors, walk-behind saws, and similar equipment.
  • Perform demolition, debris removal, and general cleanup activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each phase of construction.
  • Secure tools, materials, and equipment at the end of each workday.
  • Project Documentation & Quality
  • Assist with daily field documentation including Procore Daily Logs, jobsite photographs, and other project documentation.
  • Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities as directed by field leadership.

Safety

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, or equipment concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, materials, and safe work practices.
  • Working knowledge of general construction methods and jobsite procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and small power tools.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding work in changing outdoor conditions.
  • Previous construction experience is preferred but not required.

Working Environment

This position is primarily performed on active commercial construction jobsites throughout Southwest Missouri. Employees should expect to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks while supporting all phases of construction.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and Walking: ~75%
  • Kneeling, Bending, Lifting, and Physical Labor: ~25%
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Perform strenuous physical labor in hot, cold, wet, and other outdoor environmental conditions.
  • Safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
