Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) | Short-Term Assignment
A well-established residential education and workforce development campus in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a short-term assignment supporting student health and wellness services. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on providing quality healthcare support to a young adult student population in a structured campus setting.
This assignment is initially for 35 days, with a strong possibility of extension based on operational needs and performance.
Assignment Details
  • Position: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Chicopee, Massachusetts
  • Duration: 35 Days
  • Extension: Strong possibility of extension
  • Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Participate in student medical evaluations and health assessments
  • Perform specimen collection including blood draws and urine collection as needed
  • Screen patients and coordinate referrals to providers, wellness staff, and behavioral health professionals
  • Observe, document, and report vital signs, symptoms, and patient behavior
  • Provide first aid and basic emergency care when necessary
  • Assist physicians during examinations and prepare patients for testing and procedures
  • Educate students on personal hygiene and wellness practices
  • Administer prescribed medications as directed
  • Maintain medical equipment, medication inventory, and clinical supplies
  • Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Support health, wellness, and safety initiatives across the campus
  • Review applicant medical documentation for admissions appropriateness
Requirements
  • Active RN license
  • Previous nursing experience in clinical, school health, occupational health, correctional, or community health settings preferred
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Current BLS certification preferred
