Job description

Under the supervision of the Detox Clinical Supervisor, the Temporary Agency Nurse oversees the nursing and medical needs of ATS clients. Responsible for quality of care, staff supervision and training, and compliance with agency policies and procedures, state licensing regulations and CARF accreditation standards. Communicates with referral sources and other outside agencies regarding health and medical needs of ATS clients. Coordinates medical services provided for ATS clients. Provides ATS clients and staff with education sessions regarding health, and medical issues. Serves as a member of the Safety Committee and ad hoc member of Clinical Team.

Possess current R.N. license. Must have knowledge and experience regarding client care issues related to substance use including, withdrawal, denial, knowledge of community referral resources and basics of psychiatric and medical nursing. Need effective communication and organization skills. Prefer State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and/or national nursing specific substance abuse certification. Must have valid driver’s license in addition to current CPR and First Aid Certification.
