Job description

TYPE OF POSITION:

Supervisor of Nutritional Services, First Cook, Building Principals

SUPERVISION:

None

SALARY:

$17.20 - $18.13/hr

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
ย ย ย  High school diploma or equivalent
ย ย ย  1-3 years' work-related experience

Preferred
ย ย ย  Bilingual
ย ย ย  Basic cashiering skills
ย ย ย  Knowledge of customer service principles


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Kitchen Helper is responsible for performing routine kitchen duties including food preparation, serving breakfast and/or lunch to students and staff, dishwashing, cashiering, and cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

ย ย ย  Prepare food as directed by head cooks
ย ย ย  Set up serving lines
ย ย ย  Serve food to students and staff
ย ย ย  Keep service areas and food dispensers cleaned and stocked
ย ย ย  Count and record quantities of food sold on daily and weekly sheets
ย ย ย  Compile food and supply orders
ย ย ย  Receive money for cash sales in ala carte line
ย ย ย  Assist with cleaning the kitchen, cooking equipment, and serving areas, including operating commercial dishwashing equipment
ย ย ย  Other duties as assigned







PHYSICAL FACTORS:

ย ย ย  Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, seeing, and repetitive motions
ย ย ย  Light Work: lifting up to 40 pounds and/or exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible force constantly to move objects
