Job description

Position Summary
Arepet Industries is seeking a reliable and safety-driven Rotary Dryer Operator / Foreman to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the rotary dryer system at our MSHA-regulated facility in Von Ormy, TX. This role combines hands-on equipment operation with front-line leadership responsibilities, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining strict adherence to mine safety regulations and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience in industrial or mining environments, and the ability to lead a crew while maintaining a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
  • Operate and monitor the rotary dryer system to maintain optimal drying performance and production output.
  • Monitor feed rates, burner operation, temperatures, airflow, and material moisture to ensure product quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with plant operators, load-out personnel, and maintenance teams to maintain smooth plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and make adjustments to maintain production targets.

Supervision & Leadership
  • Serve as shift foreman, providing direction and oversight to plant personnel assigned to the dryer area.
  • Ensure team members follow all MSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Train new employees on safe equipment operation and plant procedures.

Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain strict compliance with MSHA standards and site safety protocols.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions immediately.
  • Ensure required inspections, housekeeping, and documentation are completed during each shift.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across the team.

Maintenance & Equipment Care
  • Perform routine inspections of dryer components, conveyors, burners, fans, and related systems.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and shutdown activities when required.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating rotary dryers, aggregate processing equipment, or industrial plant systems preferred.
  • Experience in mining, frac sand, aggregate, or other MSHA-regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Leadership or foreman experience supervising crews in industrial operations.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in outdoor and industrial environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around heavy equipment, conveyors, and processing systems.
  • Willingness to comply with all MSHA training and safety requirements.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.
