POSITION SUMMARY:
Individual will be making repro pattern, screwing, pinning, fitting patterns together, mounting patterns to production plates, core boxes, trim dies, pusher heads and gating the patterns per a layout determined by the Pattern Engineer. All job tasks will be performed under the supervision of experienced pattern makers. Incumbent will receive hands-on training in planning, layout, and construction of unit or sectional patterns used in forming sand molds for castings according to blueprint specifications

YOU WILL:

  • Set up and operate machine tools, such as milling machines, lathes, drill presses, CNC vertical milling machines, and grinders, to machine castings or patterns.
  • Verify conformance of patterns or template dimensions to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.
  • Layout and assemble pattern sections, using marking, hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools.
  • Verify dimensions of completed patterns and perform other related tasks.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility based on changing department requirements (overtime, shift coverage, etc.).
  • Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.
  • Must report any job-related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company.
  • Plans layout and perform machining operations and bench work to construct, measurements, grinding, and alignment to drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

YOU HAVE:

  • High School diplomaor equivalentpreferred; experience in manufacturing environment in lieu of diploma considered.
  • Education/training in shop math (including basic geometry, trigonometry, and conversion of fractions to decimals), blueprint reading and machine tool trades.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules
  • Must report any job-related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor
  • Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company

Must be willing to work overtime as required

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform most of your duties in a workshop environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work onsite in the Franklin Foundry location Monday - Friday. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
