What is a temporary fire watch?

Temporary Fire Watch personnel are individuals assigned to monitor specific areas for fire hazards during activities such as hot work (welding, cutting, or grinding), system outages, or when a fire alarm system is temporarily disabled. Their primary role is to detect and respond to potential fire incidents quickly, ensuring safety by watching for sparks, smoke, or other signs of fire. They are trained to use fire extinguishers, alert emergency services, and assist in evacuations if necessary. Temporary Fire Watch is typically required by safety regulations to prevent fires and minimize risks during hazardous operations.
