Job description

The Senior Transportation Analyst produces and interprets KPI reports in support of transportation and supply chain operational business and provides root cause analysis/solutions in support of trend variances. Must be able to work cross-functionally with both internal and external key business partners. Small package operational tasks as needed to help support the business. This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:

  • With support of business partners, responsible for maintaining, evolving, creating, and/or implementing clear KPI reporting and dashboards in support of Supply Chain with an emphasis on parcel transportation.

  • Root cause analysis on unexpected variances with recommendations to leadership.

  • Ensure data integrity with the ability to offer up solutions on improving reliability.

  • Establish key relationships with cross-functional business partners, especially data analytics and finance..

  • Initiate, maintain, and foster relationships with external freight audit and other bench-marking sources.

  • Perform other detailed analysis as business dictates. Examples: network optimization, modal composition, shipping revenue modeling, contract evaluation, labor modeling, etc.

  • Perform monthly accrual and reconciliation processes with SOX compliant internal financial partners to adhere to GAAP.

  • Own and improve the claims process for both Direct to Consumer (DTC) and Retail packages

  • Identify and forecast trends in order to create accurate budget models and latest estimate revisions.

  • Manage and develop the associate analyst.

  • Operational processes as needed.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Supply Chain, Transportation, Accounting, Operations Management, Finance, Business Administration or other related field from a four-year college or university. Additional 3 - 5 years' experience preferably in supply chain, transportation, finance or related field analytics. Internal candidates with JD Finish Line experience strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Computer and Technical Skills

Advanced knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Access and Excel. Knowledge and experience using SQL queries and Microsoft Power BI preferred.
