Additional Position Details: 40 hours per week |Variable days/ 2nd Shift - Swing/ 1230-2300 (12:30 pm- 11:00 pm)
Starting Wage: $21.19-$29.15 per hour, depending on experience
This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of 6 months
Position Summary
The Staffing Specialist provides high-level staffing and scheduling support for designated inpatient and clinical units, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage based on census, acuity, skill mix, and staffing matrices. This position delivers concierge-level service by proactively communicating with nursing leadership and staff to identify and resolve staffing gaps, adjusting in real time as needed, and maintaining compliance with collective bargaining agreements and hospital staffing policies. This role requires excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, and independent decision-making while balancing patient safety, employee competencies, labor contract requirements, and financial considerations. Must accurately document and track employee attendance and coding within the timekeeping system for leadership referral. Responsible for making electronic timecard adjustments to ensure the employee is paid correctly and that hours are charged to the correct department cost center. Requires working knowledge and application of any applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) as it relates to staffing. Requires working knowledge of various HR policies including but not limited to: Time Records, Attendance, ETO, Hours of Work Overtime, and Leave of Absence.
Position Qualifications
Experience
  • 3 years customer service-related experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment- required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and scheduling systems- highly desired.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent- required
  • Associate's degree in related field- preferred
