Job description

The Great Escape Room is looking for a Handyman/ Carpenter to join our team at our workshop in Longwood, FL. This position is a 6 month temporary position. The position entails assisting in constructing our props for our experiences. The ideal candidate will have a sense of how to use basic tools, follow directions and possibly traveling for days at a time.
DUTIES
  • Assist our workshop crew implementing our prefabricated rooms at our locations across the country
  • Repair broken parts, pieces, puzzles, props on site if damaged in transit
  • Safely use hand and power tools
  • Maintain clean and functional work space
  • Collaborate with the team to work safely on the projects

SKILLS NEEDED:
  • Basic carpentry skills including using, drills, and hand tools.
  • Finished Carpentry Skills - sanding and painting/ staining
  • Rough Carpentry Skills - building an interior wall
  • Be able to read & understand tape measures & levels
  • Must be able to follow instructions and processes
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to paint interior spaces and props with latex and spray paints is strongly preferred
  • Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Must be reliable

This position requires you to work from our Longwood, FL workshop.
Salary: $20 per hour
  • Additional Stipulations: The Great Escape Room will pay for the travel costs and living accommodations of our crew (usually via vehicular transportation, but sometimes air travel is necessary) for the project installs.
