The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting the enterprise network across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role requires advanced expertise in modern SD-WAN technologies, network security platforms, and multi-vendor environments. The engineer will act as a technical leader, provide escalation support, and ensure network reliability, scalability, and security across the organization.
Responsibilities of the Temporary Senior Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center, and multi-cloud environments
- Lead architecture and implementation of Prisma SD-WAN (CloudGenix) solutions including policy creation, routing optimization, and application-aware traffic steering
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Panorama, Global Protect VPN, and security policies
- Support and administer Cisco networking platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR) including routing, switching, QoS, and high-availability designs
- Manage Cisco Meraki environments, including MX security appliances, MR wireless, MS switching, and cloud-managed operations
- Architect and support cloud networking components such as VPCs, virtual firewalls, load balancers, transit gateways, and hybrid cloud connectivity in AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and serve as Tier-3 escalation for complex network and security issues
- Develop and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks
- Implement network monitoring, automation, and performance optimization strategies
- Participate in on-call rotation and assist with change management and incident response activities
Qualifications of the Temporary Senior Network Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or architecture roles
- Strong proficiency in routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VRFs, QoS)
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Prisma SD-WAN environments
- Deep understanding of Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security tools
- Extensive experience with Cisco enterprise networking equipment
- Proficiency managing Meraki cloud-managed networks
- Solid knowledge of cloud networking concepts and services in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform) is a plus
- Excellent communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills
- Acceptable driving record according to company guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as:
- CCNP/CCIE
- PCNSE
- Meraki CMNA/CMNP
- Prisma SD-WAN certifications
- AWS/Azure Networking Specialty
- Experience with Zero Trust, SASE, and cloud security architecture
- Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps principles, and enterprise change control processes
