Job description

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Temp Electro- Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for the assembly, modification, and wiring of Universal Test Platforms (UTPs), test fixtures, cable assemblies, and related electromechanical equipment. This individual will work from engineering schematics, drawings, and work instructions to fabricate, modify, and repair prototype and production test hardware. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with strong soldering, cabling, and electromechanical assembly skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role will be based in our Marlborough, MA office reporting to the Sr. Test Engineering Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Fabricate and assemble UTPs, test fixtures, cable assemblies, and related electromechanical hardware.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and assembly documentation.
  • Perform modifications and rework to assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Build and route wire harnesses and cable assemblies to engineering specifications.
  • Perform soldering of pcb, connector, and wire terminations.
  • Install and integrate mechanical and electrical components including connectors, relays, switches, sensors, and other hardware.
  • Assist engineering personnel with prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure workmanship and compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area while following company quality and safety procedures.
  • Document assembly changes and communicate issues identified during fabrication.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to read and understand engineering schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with soldering electronic components, connectors, and wiring assemblies.
  • Experience fabricating and terminating cables and wire harnesses.
  • Strong electromechanical assembly skills.
  • Proficiency using common hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, drills, screwdrivers, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):
  • Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in electronics, electrical technology, or related field.
  • Experience assembling engineering prototypes, test fixtures, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies.
  • Experience with hand tools including screw drivers
  • Experience troubleshooting wiring and assembly issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Must also be able to crouch, crawl and work in awkward positions for hours at a time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay: $31.00
