Electromechanical Engineer

If you're ready for the challenge of working at a dynamic organization, our Mission Systems Division in Hollywood, MD, has a career opportunity available for an on-site, full -time, Electromechanical Engineer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a small team of engineers and drafters creating customized mobile mission systems for a variety of clients in the defense and aerospace industry.
  • Using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, model rack components, elevations, and wiring diagrams that represent current system architectures.
  • Manage 120/208VAC power distribution requirements within mission systems and surrounding equipment.
  • Identify, verify, and track requirements generated internally or by customers, ensuring compliance with final engineering deliverables and documentation.
  • Carry ownership of system architecture and circuit designs of varying complexity for integration into future mission systems.
  • Conduct drawing reviews in support of configuration management, controlling model revisions within Autodesk Vault.
  • Participate in activities across a broad engineering domain, collaborating with other engineers and industry professionals on mechanical packaging, electrical routing, and hardware validation.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment, solving problems and producing deliverables driven by customer needs and program-specific requirements.
  • Interpret and digest customer constraints in support of future contracts, communicating intended fit, form, and function with relevant stakeholders alongside business development and program management colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience, ideally within defense, aerospace, or a high-reliability industrial sector
  • Demonstrated professional experience with Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent software) for 3D component modeling
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and electrical schematics
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability and willingness to travel between 5% and 10% for customer visits, integration support, or on-site technical reviews
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite
  • Strong communication and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD electrical for 2D wiring and block diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Design-for-Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) concepts
  • Experience with TEMPEST concepts as they apply to electrical equipment and device power
