Job description

Job Description: Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems on trucks, combining house wiring and DC wiring expertise to support reliable vehicle operation. This role also provides customer service before, during, and after training events, acting as a key liaison between customers and internal departments to ensure a positive and informed customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain electrical systems on trucks, including both house wiring and DC wiring components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and electromechanical issues on trucks using schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform electromechanical assembly and installation of components, ensuring proper integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair AC/DC electrical systems, including wiring, connections, and related components.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and blueprints to complete installations and repairs accurately.
  • Provide field service support, including on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of truck electrical systems for end users.
  • Deliver customer service before, during, and after training events, ensuring customers receive clear guidance and support.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments, communicating technical issues, feedback, and service needs.
  • Support training activities by preparing equipment, demonstrating proper operation, and answering technical questions from customers.
  • Document work performed, including troubleshooting steps, parts used, and resolutions, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex technical problems and improve product reliability.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and best practices when working with electrical systems.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge related to electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems to support ongoing customer needs.

Essential Skills

  • Approximately 3 years of electrical experience working with DC wiring.
  • Approximately 3 years of electro-mechanical experience.
  • Approximately 3 years of AC/DC electrical experience.
  • Approximately 3 years of experience working with schematics and pneumatic blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with wiring, installation, and repair of electrical systems.
  • Field service experience supporting installation, maintenance, and repair at customer sites.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service and communicate effectively with end users.
  • Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or a closely related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electromechanical assembly and installation in a truck or vehicle environment.
  • Experience in mechanical and electronic systems, including integration of electrical and mechanical components.
  • Comfort working in a customer-facing role, representing the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and serve as a liaison between technical teams and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a hands-on technical role.
  • Interest in cross-training and expanding skills across different departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
