Companies such as smaller regional carriers or those with apprenticeship programs often prioritize new drivers and may require less experience. However, having a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and a clean driving record improves chances of quick employment.

A temporary driver's license generally allows individuals to drive legally for a limited period, but most employers require a valid, full driver's license to qualify for a driving job.
