Short Description for Internal Candidates   Logistics Specialist - Transportation Analytics & Optimization

Vertiv | Americas Region

Position Summary

Vertiv is seeking a data-driven Logistics Specialist to optimize transportation performance across the Americas region. This role will leverage logistics expertise, analytics, and reporting capabilities to improve carrier performance, enhance visibility, optimize our Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) model, and drive continuous improvement across transportation operations.

The ideal candidate will combine strong logistics knowledge with advanced analytics skills to transform large datasets into actionable insights that improve cost, service, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze transportation data, freight spend, carrier performance, service levels, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Build dashboards, KPI reporting, and analytics solutions using Power BI, Excel, Tableau, SQL, and other tools.
  • Support LLP optimization, premium air freight execution, and transportation process improvements.
  • Manage carrier performance by tracking delivery, cost, capacity, transit, and service metrics while driving corrective actions.
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Master Data, carriers, and logistics providers to improve visibility and execution.
  • Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, process standardization, and transportation workflows.
  • Leverage TMS capabilities to support reporting, automation, and operational alignment.
  • Support continuous improvement projects, process documentation, and stakeholder training.
  • Travel approximately 10%.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or analytics.
  • Strong experience with transportation data analysis, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience using Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of freight operations, carrier management, and logistics procurement.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • English required; Spanish preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • International air freight experience.
  • Domestic and international transportation experience.
  • LLP, 4PL, TMS, or managed transportation experience.
  • Process improvement and process mapping experience.
