Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring entry level Cook / Servers for a pop-up banquet hall serving meals to construction workers at a Data Center project in McCarran, NV. This is a temp position paying $16–$19/hr depending on experience. In this role, you will prepare and cook menu items from scratch using a grill, sauté station, and fryer, while also taking guest orders and delivering food and beverages to tables. This is a working kitchen environment with steady volume throughout the project.


Pay: $18–$21/hr

Schedule: Daytime shift. Evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime shifts may be required

Location: McCarran, NV 89437

Job Type: Temp 2-3 year project

Work Environment: Pop-up banquet hall / scratch kitchen serving a Data Center construction crew in a rural area


Responsibilities

  • Work both back-of-house and front-of-house in a from-scratch kitchen serving large volumes of construction workers in a banquet-style setting.
  • Operate grill, sauté station, and fryer following recipes and quality standards.
  • Wash, chop, and portion ingredients for service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, service areas, and dining areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.


Minimum Requirements

  • 6+ months of recent cook, prep cook, or similar experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in catering, buffets, banquet halls, food production or restaurant kitchen environment.Experience operating a grill, sauté station, or commercial fryer.
  • Familiarity with scratch cooking and following standardized recipes.
  • Experience taking guest orders and delivering food in a restaurant or banquet setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe or equivalent a plus).
  • Experience in high-volume or catering / banquet-style food service.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, food service, or restaurant environment — or a strong willingness to learn (entry-level candidates welcome).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
