As Manager, Consulting Services, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our Boston practice with a strong focus on temporary and contract staffing. You'll develop new client relationships and expand existing partnerships to support fast-moving hiring needs across finance and accounting in the Boston market.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing, entrepreneurial team and play a key role in expanding our market share, strengthening our brand, and building long-term relationships with top clients across the Boston market.
You'll work directly with CFOs, Controllers, and Finance leaders at organizations like Bose, Johnson & Johnson, Houghton Mifflin, Publicis Sapient, IDEXX, and Wayfair, as well as high-growth, venture-backed startups.
What You'll Do:
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across the Boston market, building long-term client partnerships and expanding DeWinter's footprint.
  • Lead a high volume of client meetings each month and drive consistent gross profit growth through strategic business development.
  • Prospect creatively and proactively through networking, LinkedIn, industry events, market intelligence, and trend analysis.
  • Target decision-makers, including CFOs, Controllers, VP of Finance, Chief Accounting Officers understanding where and how to create opportunity.
  • Evaluate and prioritize high-value prospects by understanding what makes a company worth pursuing, including hiring patterns, growth trajectory, funding activity, and workforce strategy.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline, owning your activity, strategy, and results while adjusting quickly to market opportunities.
  • Develop both short-term and long-term sales strategies, understanding the difference between pursuing enterprise/VMS-driven accounts (longer sales cycle) versus middle-market and retail clients (faster conversion opportunities).
  • Partner closely with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure successful project launches, consultant performance, and long-term client satisfaction.
  • Represent the DeWinter brand with integrity, professionalism, and urgency in every client interaction.

Requirements
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of B2B sales, business development, or staffing experience, with a focus on temporary and contract staffing within accounting and finance.
  • Knowledge of the accounting and finance talent landscape, with a clear understanding of the right buyer personas and hiring stakeholders across finance and accounting functions.
  • Deep understanding of prospecting strategy, knowing how to hunt for new business, build market maps, follow hiring trends, and create opportunities beyond inherited accounts.
  • Knowledge of the difference between VMS and retail staffing models, and the ability to navigate both effectively.
  • Understanding of how enterprise/VMS pursuits differ from mid-market and retail client development, including sales cycle expectations and long-term account strategy.
  • An established network in the Boston market, with strong relationships and local credibility, paired with the ability to consistently develop new business beyond existing connections.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, metrics-driven staffing or recruiting environment with a track record of generating revenue and opening new accounts.
  • Strong communication and executive presence, with confidence engaging CFOs, Controllers, Finance Directors, and senior hiring leaders.
