Job description

Recreation Contract Class Instructor This is a temporary contract position without benefits. The City of Artesia is seeking experienced and reliable Class Instructors to lead engaging, wellness-focused programs for residents. Instructors will deliver structured classes that promote community connection, personal growth, and overall well-being.

Program Focus Areas We are especially interested in proposals that support one or more of the following pillars: After School Programs & Day Camps Dance, Ballet, and Cheer Youth and Adult Sports Teen Services Senior Services Pickleball and Tennis Skateboarding Pet-related classes and activities Language classes or cultural enrichment Interactive skill-building classes that encourage social connection Class Structure Classes are offered in seasonal or annual sessions lasting 6-10 weeks Classes may meet 2-5 days per week for 2-3 hours per day Classes will not meet on City holidays Schedules and offerings are subject to change based on community needs Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, interactive classes Provide a structured weekly curriculum or schedule Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality Adapt instruction to meet participant needs and abilities Dependable, organized, and prepared to commit to the full session Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Submit a completed class proposal application Successfully complete a Live Scan background check Completing a Class Instructor Agreement Contract Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications Valid Mandated Reporter certification For More Information: Contact Joshua Acevedo at JAcevedo@cityofartesia.us or (562) 860-3361
