Job description

We are seeking an experienced BI Developer with casino industry experience to design, deploy, and maintain accurate analytics and business intelligence solutions.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who understands both the technical side of BI development and the operational realities of the casino industry. This person should be comfortable working with core transactional reporting systems, translating business needs into modern analytics solutions, and helping internal staff build confidence using our BI Platform. The candidate should be capable of not only recreating existing reports, but also identifying opportunities to improve reporting visibility, efficiency, and decision-making

Position Summary

This temporary contract role will focus on ensuring data integrity, business logic accuracy, and operational trust across our reporting environment. The successful candidate will develop reliable dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions leveraging data directly from our current Light & Wonder casino management and analytics systems. A core objective of this position is to champion a "Single Source of Truth," by embedding critical business rules into certified, high-trust reporting solutions that operational teams and business leaders can fully rely on for daily decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within the casino industry and understand slot operations, player tracking, marketing analytics, poker room analytics, casino financial metrics, and operational reporting. This individual will work closely with operational and leadership teams to identify reporting needs, replicate key business reports, and develop enhanced dashboards that provide actionable insights.

This role will also include training and mentoring internal team members on BI Platform functionality, report development, dashboard management, and best practices. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred to support collaboration with a diverse team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand existing reports from:
    • IGT systems
    • SQL reporting environments
    • Core casino reporting platforms
  • Recreate, modernize, and improve existing reports and dashboards in the organization's chosen BI Platform using data from Light & Wonder systems, SSAS cubes, and related databases.
  • Work directly with casino leadership and department stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and business objectives.
  • Develop BI Platform dashboards and reports focused on:
    • Slot performance
    • Player development and loyalty
    • Marketing campaign analysis
    • Promotions and player reinvestment tracking
    • Poker room analytics and operational reporting
    • Revenue and financial reporting
    • Operational KPIs
  • Translate complex operational data into user-friendly visualizations and executive dashboards.
  • Connect the BI Platform to multiple data sources including:
    • Light & Wonder systems
    • SQL databases
    • Excel and CSV data
    • Other casino operational systems
  • Improve and optimize existing reporting processes for efficiency, scalability, and usability.
  • Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency between operational SQL/IGT reports, the SSAS semantic layer, and the new front-end dashboards.
  • Document reporting logic, calculations, and dashboard structures.
  • Train internal team members on:
    • BI Platform fundamentals
    • Dashboard development
    • Data visualization best practices
    • On-Premises/Cloud platform usage
    • Maintaining and modifying reports
  • Provide ongoing knowledge transfer and technical guidance throughout the engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a BI Developer, Report Developer, or Data Visualization Specialist.
  • Prior casino or gaming industry experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of casino operations, slot analytics, poker room reporting, player tracking systems, and casino KPIs.
  • Experience working with:
    • Modern BI Platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
    • SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and multidimensional cubes
    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for paginated, operational and transactional reporting
    • Casino management and reporting systems
  • Experience recreating or migrating reports from core casino systems into a centralized BI Platform.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting end-user training or mentoring teams on reporting tools.
  • Strong English communication skills; Spanish fluency or bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

  • Ability to occasionally move throughout the property and operational areas as needed.
