Job description

The Concrete Laborer will perform many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. As a concrete laborer you will ensure concrete is poured correctly through accurate placement on-site with various forms needed on the construction site.

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after
    use, using saws, hammers, nails, bolts or form hardware.
  • Dig ditches and levels earth to grade specifications, using pick, shovels and rakes.
  • Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
  • Mix concrete and mortar.
  • Clean construction site to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Assist to align, straighten, plumb and square forms for installation.
  • Construct forms, then assist in raising them to the required elevation.
  • Install and tie rebar and wire mesh.
  • Install handrails.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree.
  • 1 + years of concrete or skilled labor experience preferred.
  • Experience with concrete form setting or construction is required.
  • Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials.
  • Proficiency with industry hand and power tools, including saws.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
  • Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the workday.
  • Good housekeeping skills.
