Job description

Action Company LLC is looking for a seasonal concrete laborer who will work alongside a team of construction professionals to ensure the successful completion of concrete projects. Your duties will involve assisting with the preparation, pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete structures.  
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the demolition and removal of existing concrete structures or surfaces as needed, using appropriate equipment and techniques. 
  • Assist in preparing worksites for concrete placement, including setting up forms, ensuring proper grading, and installing reinforcement materials such as rebar or wire mesh.
  • Guide the pouring of concrete from trucks into forms and use shovels and other hand tools to spread, level, and prepare concrete for finishing touches while adhering to project specifications and safety guidelines. 
  •  Move and transport freshly poured concrete from truck to work area using wheelbarrows if applicable.
  •  Assist in finishing concrete surfaces using various tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds to achieve desired textures and smoothness. 
  • Aid in the curing process by applying curing compounds or protective coatings to concrete surfaces to promote proper hydration and prevent cracking or damage. 
  • Remove and clean forms, boards, and stakes once job is completed, clean tools and ensure debris is removed from work site. 
  • Backfill trenches and holes created in parkways due to construction jobs, level surface dirt, seeds and performs other light landscaping duties to restore areas if needed. 
  •  Operate various construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently, including concrete mixers, power trowels, jackhammers, and saws. 
Education & Experience: 

  • Preferred experience in commercial concrete work
  • Competent in the use of power tools
  •  Basic measurement and calculation skills
  • Ability to follow safe working procedures.
  •  Excellent observation skills and strong attention to detail
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license.
