Job description

Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
  • Senior level role in the Buyer job family supporting our site in Georgetown, TX. Plan and purchase products to meet demand need. Maintain inventory levels, address shortages and support product evolution daily. Responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of customers and the business. Work with a bit more complex suppliers and supply chains changes and development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the SIOP and demand team, sending forecast to suppliers.

  • Tactical creation and issuance of purchase orders to approved suppliers based on the demand.

  • Work with supplier to expedite material as needed to support production needs driven by customer demand.

  • Supports internal customer i.e., Offering managers/Warranty team/NPDI/Project Managers

  • Reconcile / resolve invoice discrepancies and route next steps to appropriate functional group.

  • Coordinate information between suppliers, Materials & Commodity Management; provide products availability, pricing, and shipping information.

  • Adheres to spot buy and freight cost management processes to minimize total cost to the business.

  • Investigate multiple options with the commodity team for and negotiate favorable pricing/terms on spot buys.

  • Create / maintain purchase order lines for surcharges due to tariffs, freight, expediting, package, etc

  • Coordinate with quality team and logistics team with any manufactory rework due to quality issues

  • Monitor production and transit lead time, adjust PO issue date based on the changes.

  • Work with project managers, the commodity team, and new suppliers with manufactories transfer.

  • Process and monitor consignment process.

  • Work with suppliers to control material inventories.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent functional experience required

  • 7+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred

  • Understanding of business financials

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent functional experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • No Special Physical Requirements

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors)

TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED
  • None
