Position Description
The Department of Health and Human Performance seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/non-tenured faculty to teach in athletic training, exercise and sports science, physical fitness and wellness, public health, recreational therapy, and recreation and sport management.
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to two courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental needs. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos, Round Rock, or Collin County campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
This posting is for the fall 2025, spring 2026, and summer 2026 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
Required Qualifications
  • Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
