Job description

Boatcrew members and coxswains participate in the Coast Guard Auxiliary operations program. Auxiliary boats in central Arkansas regularly patrol on the Arkansas River and Greer's Ferry Lake where they are available to help boaters in distress, check on the status of federal aids to navigation such as bridge lights and buoys, perform escort duty during maritme events such as regattas, canoe and kayak races, and work with local law enforcement to ensure safety zones are maintained at events such as the firework shows in Little Rock. Boatcrews are sometimes asked to take out members of the Coast Guard so that they can perform homeland security and environmental protection missions.
