Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for the position of:
TEMPORARY 4 HOUR SPECIAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - District-wide

This temporary position begins as soon as possible for the 2024-25 school year, ending June 10, 2025. 
CLOSING DATE:   Until filled
REPORTS TO:    Building Administration
SALARY:   $19.52 to $24.68 per hour depending on experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:  This is a temporary position providing 1-on-1 support for a student in the TLC program who is transitioning to homebound instruction. Responsibilities include asssiting with academic instruction, supervision of the student in both classroom and non-instructional settings, implementation of behavior support strategies, and collaboration with the instructional team to ensure continuity of services in the homebound setting.Other related duties as assigned. 
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
















 
  • Accurate reading, writing, and listening skills.
  • Ability to successfully work with moderately-impacted special education students.
  • Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test exam (or other comparable skills evaluation) prior to hiring.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and adults.
  • Must be currently or willing to become first aid/CPR certified.
  • Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephones, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written material; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs) 
PREFERENCES:
  • Preference may be given to those who are fluent in Spanish and English.
