Construction Laborer
Caribou, ME – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Schedule: Full-time/Days; M-F 6:00 AM–6:00 PM. Occasional Saturday work may be required.
Payrate: $18.00–$20.00/hr., depending on experience.
Job Description:
Now seeking dependable Construction Laborers to support a bridge construction project in Caribou. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on, outdoor work and are comfortable working in a physically demanding construction environment.
The Construction Laborer will provide general assistance to equipment operators, surveyors, and other members of the construction crew. Duties may include setting up construction signs, moving materials, shoveling, cleaning the worksite, and completing other tasks needed to keep the project moving safely and efficiently. Work may take place near or in water, and employees may be required to wear waders.
Ideal candidates will be reliable, safety-conscious, physically capable of working long shifts, and willing to assist wherever needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up, move, and maintain construction signs and traffic-control materials.
  • Assist equipment operators and other construction crew members.
  • Provide general support to surveyors as directed.
  • Shovel dirt, gravel, and other materials.
  • Load, unload, carry, and organize tools and construction materials.
  • Perform general worksite cleanup and maintenance.
  • Work in or near water while wearing appropriate protective equipment.
  • Follow all jobsite safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, shovel, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction areas.
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
  • Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays based on project needs.
  • Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
