About the Position
Harris Health System is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for the night shift at Ben Taub Hospital. In this role, you will ensure safe, effective, and optimal medication management across all dimensions of patient care.
You will interpret and evaluate medication orders, support clinical decision-making, and perform key pharmacy functions such as order entry, pharmacokinetics, IV-to-PO conversions, and therapeutic interchange. You will also participate in multidisciplinary rounds, provide direct patient care, and contribute to staff education and training. This role includes mentoring pharmacy interns, technicians, and residents.About Harris Health System

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Texas Pharmacist License (or must obtain within 90 days)
    • Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification (within 180 days)
    • ACPE IV Sterile Certification
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required for inpatient roles within 6 months)
    • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in:
      • Outpatient/Retail setting (ACS roles), OR
      • Inpatient hospital setting (IP roles)
    • PGY1 residency highly preferred
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written communication (reports)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Word and computer applications
  • Knowledge/Skills:
    • Analytical and research skills
