About your role:

As a Senior Technical Writer at Fiserv, you will translate complex product and service information into clear, structured content that helps clients install, configure, and use our solutions. You will work with product, support, and artificial intelligence teams, along with subject matter experts, to create modular documentation that supports intelligent search, automation, and chatbot experiences. In this role, you will also provide guidance to junior writers, support training and knowledge sharing, and lead documentation efforts across assigned workstreams to improve content quality, usability, and consistency across modern delivery platforms.

What you'll do:

  • Create and maintain structured, component-based content designed for reuse, personalization, and artificial intelligence-driven delivery.
  • Partner with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information, validate technical accuracy, and define documentation requirements.
  • Use test environments to research products and services, validate workflows, and capture screen samples for documentation.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence tools to support content creation, editing, summarization, and quality improvement while validating accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Apply content transformation standards to convert legacy documentation into modular, metadata-rich topics optimized for modern delivery platforms.
  • Estimate, track, and prioritize assigned projects, coordinate writing assignments across shared workstreams, and meet established deadlines.
  • Provide leadership across documentation workstreams by conducting peer training, mentoring junior writers, improving documentation workflows, and ensuring deliverables meet industry, regulatory, and accessibility standards while incorporating customer feedback to improve content.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing for software, platform, or product documentation in structured authoring environments.
  • 5+ years of experience creating and editing client-facing or user-facing technical documentation in software development life cycle and Agile environments.
  • Experience with the following tools: MadCap Flare, (HTML), Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Snagit, or similar tools to create and maintain published content.
  • Experience applying the Microsoft Style Guide, department writing standards, topic-based authoring, content reuse, and metadata practices in documentation workflows.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence tools, including generative artificial intelligence and content assistants, to streamline writing workflows while reviewing output for quality and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Technical Communications, Professional Writing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience writing user interface text and application screen content.
  • Experience leading content transformation efforts across documentation sets.
  • Experience creating structured, semantically consistent content designed for artificial intelligence consumption, including search, chatbots, and intelligent knowledge platforms.
  • Experience with banking platforms, banking applications, online financial solutions, Fluid Topics, Jira, and Confluence.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experience helps you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires flexibility to work during non-standard and/or early morning hours, as needed.

Sponsorship:

  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.
