The Counter Person is the primary point of contact for customers at an auto mechanic shop.
This role involves greeting customers, understanding their vehicle needs, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a smooth, professional experience from drop-off to pick-up.
Key Responsibilities:
-Greet customers promptly and professionally at the front counter
-Listen to customer concerns and gather vehicle and service information
-Create repair orders and accurately document requested services
-Communicate repair needs, estimates, and timelines to customers
-Coordinate with mechanics and shop staff regarding vehicle status
-Order, receive, and distribute parts as needed
-Process payments, invoices, and basic cash register transactions
-Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries
-Maintain a clean, organized front counter and office area
Qualifications:
-Strong customer service and communication skills
-Basic knowledge of automotive systems and terminology preferred
-Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
-Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, and shop software
