PAY GRADE: $10.00/Hour
Primary Purpose:
To assist in keeping the building and grounds clean, safe, and sanitary.
Qualifications:
Education/certification:
  • Minimal

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • A good working attitude, willingness to work and follow instructions
Experience:
  • None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. To sweep floors and remove scuff marks from floors in rooms and halls in assigned area.
  2. To remove dust from desks, counters, and table tops in assigned area facilities.
  3. To mop, wax and buff floors as needed and directed including restroom facilities.
  4. To fill dispensers with towels, soaps and toilet tissue.
  5. To clean windows and mirrors as needed.
  6. To replace broken windows when needed.
  7. To replace light bulbs as needed.
  8. To turn lights out as required to conserve energy.
  9. To dispose of paper, garbage and trash.
  10. To remove all spots and stains as necessary.
  11. To wash, dry and dust cleaning equipment after use.
  12. To set up chairs and tables as needed for meetings and other activities.
  13. To Know location and use of all fire fighting equipment.
  14. To lock doors and windows to assure building security before leaving.
  15. To report to assistant head custodian or head custodian any maintenance problem noticed.
  16. To report to assistant head custodian or head custodian any unauthorized people who may be in building after building is closed.
  17. To perform other duties as assigned by the head custodian, assistant head custodian, or supervising administrator.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate district functions.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Frequent prolonged and irregular hours; Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, walking, and bending.
