Location: Twin Cities Metro Area, MN
Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Position Type: Temporary with Potential for Permanent Hire
Position Overview

Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a government-sector client to identify an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role will primarily focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities while assisting with general accounting and financial administration functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a collaborative, process-driven environment.

This is a full-time temporary opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance and organizational needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable
  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs.
  • Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Accounts Receivable
  • Generate and distribute invoices and billing statements.
  • Apply incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts.
  • Research and resolve customer billing questions.
  • Reconcile accounts and maintain detailed payment records.
General Accounting Support
  • Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support financial reporting and audit requests.
  • Enter and update financial data within accounting systems.
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping.
  • Experience working within an ERP or accounting software system.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
