Antitrust & Competition Associate AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking an Antitrust & Competition Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in New York City or Washington, D.C.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of antitrust experience to join a nationally recognized Antitrust & Competition practice. The team advises clients on complex antitrust investigations, merger reviews, government enforcement actions, high-stakes litigation, and cross-border regulatory matters across industries including technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and energy.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in complex antitrust investigations, government enforcement actions, and private antitrust litigation.
Advise clients on merger reviews before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Assist with cross-border transaction advocacy and global regulatory strategy.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation filings.
Conduct sophisticated legal research and analysis on antitrust and competition law issues.
Advise clients on antitrust compliance, risk management, and competition law developments.
Support all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and regulatory proceedings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on high-profile domestic and international matters.
Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active membership in the New York or District of Columbia Bar.
1-3 years of antitrust, competition, regulatory, or government investigations experience at a major law firm.
Experience with antitrust litigation, merger reviews, government investigations, or competition counseling is preferred.
Prior judicial clerkship or DOJ/FTC experience is preferred.
Familiarity with antitrust issues affecting the technology sector is highly preferred.
Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Strong academic credentials.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $225,000-$310,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
