A Brief Overview
Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Wound Healing Center's physician.
Responsibilities
What you will do
  • Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chambers and associated systems and equipment.
  • Oversees full compliance with safety regulations according to the codes and standards of the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Association (UHMS).
  • Ensures all safety requirements are met daily.
  • Assists in the delivery of patient care appropriate to the level of his/her medical training.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.
  • Participates in basic wound care, including measurements, assessment and evaluation, wound care product selection, and documentation.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in process improvement activities as assigned.
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients' rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Ensures maintenance and provision for equipment and supplies, including new product evaluations.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized area.
  • Provides input into staff development needs and/or nursing committees, and nursing research activities as appropriate.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate is required. A higher degree may be required, depending on the candidate's training and licensure/certification. Required and
  • Training in one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse, Emergency Medical Technologist or Paramedic. Required and
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education as appropriate. Required
  • 2 Years patient care experience. Required
  • Current Alabama Nursing Assistant certification. Required or
  • Current nursing license in the State of Alabama renewed every two (2) years. Required or
  • Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Alabama Department of Health. RRT's registered on or after July 1, 2002, must maintain an active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be updated every five (5) years. RRT's credentialed prior to July 1, 2002, are not required to renew every five (5) years in accordance with NBRC. Required or
  • Current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license. Required or
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license or Paramedic (PMD) license in the State of Alabama - renewed every two (2) years. Required and
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. Required
