Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes relationships with new customers and secures contracts with new customers to achieve assigned sales quotas and targets
  • Qualifies prospects against company criteria
  • Provides solutions to customers and potential customers about their business challenges
  • Partners closely with the Sales Manager and General Manager to establish new target accounts
  • Works with Designers, Customer Service, Production, Shipping, and other internal departments as an effective team member to create packaging solutions that fit the needs of the customer and the manufacturing capabilities of the plant
  • Provides management with regular updates and reports on sales activities
  • Effectively communicates with Customer Service regarding customer requirements and special needs and to offer world class service to customers on every order placed.
  • Travels throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and to assure continued profitability and growth of existing accounts
  • Be a positive representative of the company
  • Assists in collection of delinquent accounts
  • Delivers price quotes and credit terms and prepares sales contract for orders obtained
  • Estimates delivery date based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules
  • Tracks stock levels
  • Coordinates customer training
  • Supplies new customer data and other sales data for current customer into database
  • Develops and maintains relationship with purchasing contacts
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
  • Attends trade shows
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Any other task or duty that is deemed necessary by management.

Fast paced environment, requiring adaptation to continuous changes in Company, Customer and People needs

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 20 lbs. frequently 20-35 lbs. occasionally, more than 35 lbs. rarely, over 50 lbs. requires team or mechanical assistance
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at desk in traditional office environment
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
